Silly Slumbers
Wow! I haven't blogged in a few weeks! The Crispies have been busy giving me lots of material lately, so I think they are trying to tell me to get on with it...
I will start with this:
I will start with this:
The last couple of nights, I have been looking at sleeping arrangements of all my furry friends. This is where Beau Bear would sleep if he were allowed to choose...unfortunately, we don't have room in our bed to sleep comfortably with a squirmy 100 pound dog. We usually let him join us for a movie before bedtime, and sometimes in the mornings before we get up. He is really great at cuddling!
When he is not on our bed, he sleeps next to it. He has his own dog bed, but....
Bella really likes it....
So Beau has to sleep on the floor. He doesn't seem to mind.
Such a gentleman!
As for Brisa....I found her sleeping UNDER the bed.
She never ceases to surprise me with her weirdness.
I don't know why she likes it under there...maybe she actually likes her own smell (and boy, does she stink) ....because the bed skirt encloses her in it. Eww. Again...weird.
I don't know where Number 2 has been sleeping...sometimes he sleeps on me, until Number 3 comes along and bullies everyone else off the bed.. She always sleeps right next to me (and takes up more space than you could imagine!) The two of them aren't really into companionship with other animals...
Lately, Numbers 2 and 3 have been huddling together, which I assume must be because of the cold since this is definitely NOT normal behavior for them....
It's really cute though!!

Why do I bother?
Today, I am not on speaking terms with the Crispies....I almost regret not leaving them outside last night when they escaped!
Yesterday, Kyle brought me these flowers (isn't he wonderful?!) .....
I had intended to move them to the kitchen counter for the night, knowing they might not be safe, but forgot before we went to bed. So when I wake up this morning, the demon cats (most likely just Bella) had my beautiful flowers spread throughout the room! The vase was tipped over, not spilling any water, thanks to the bowl, and the roses were broken off the stems.I ended up taping the roses back to their stems...I just couldn't bear to throw them away when he just got them for me last night! They are missing a few petals, and the ones remaining are all chewed up, but they still look pretty good...
Not only did she destroy these flowers, but she also got to my wedding bouquet! (I know that one was Bella because she is the only one that can get to the top of the china cabinet...) It has been sitting up there for over a year now, so the flowers are very dry and crumble easily. That must have made it more enjoyable to tear apart:
There isn't much left of it now...
Perhaps it was unreasonable of me to think that it would be safe on top of a six foot china cabinet.
Apparently I still have not accepted the fact that I just cannot put anything nice where the Crispies can reach it (which is just about everywhere). Amazing that it still upsets me so much!
Bratty cats.

Furry Friendships
Now here is something I just MUST share...it's too darn cute not to!
My dad and stepmom got a new kitten a couple weeks ago (whom I have yet to meet).
This is him:
Cute, right?
They also have a lovely black lab named shadow. She is about 5 years old, pretty overweight, and just like another one of their children! She is really a great dog, but we wondered how she would like having a new "little brother." (Especially since my dad spent years teaching her to "get the kitty!")
Turns out, they get along just fine.....
Isn't that just adorable?!?! I love it :)
Little Harley even gets to go camping with them on the weekends! How many cats get to do such exciting things?!
And now Shadow has someone to keep her company while she lounges around in the camper all day!
Things like this always make my day :)
I wonder what it would take to get a Crispy to curl up next to Beau Bear.....
